Travel to Croatia
We’re getting married on the beautiful island of Hvar, Croatia.
The island of Hvar doesn’t have an airport of its own, so the nearest airport and major town is Split. From Split you will have to catch a local ferry.
Flight schedules for 2022 have been released from all UK airlines. Some guests are booked to fly direct from the UK to Split Airport (SPU) and some have booked to connect via Amsterdam and London.
We recommend you use skyscanner.com for the best flight but you can also book direct with each airline. Let us know if you need any help.

Transfers
Split is a very small airport. Once you clear passport control and baggage re-claim you have a choice on how you get to Split's ferry port.
We used Uber during our visit, and it worked very well. The journey from the airport to the port cost around 200 Kuna, which is £23.
For those of you who don’t use Uber we recommend using a local taxi, they are located outside the airport terminal on the left.
The cost of a taxi will be around 250 Kuna which is £30.
For those who have booked accommodation with Suncani, you can arrange transfers with the hotel directly from and to the airport by clicking here.
Split to Hvar Ferry
From Split's ferry port there is a very reliable and frequent ferry service which will take you directly to the town of Hvar.
You can get to the island of Hvar on two ferry lines. One will take you to Hvar Town and the other will take you to Stari Grad, Hvar.
The ferry service is provided by two companies, Jadrolinja & Krilo.
You can book at the ticket office when you arrive at the port or you can pre-book online.
Tickets cost 110 Kuna on average, this is around £12 per person each way.
We booked online, on the day of travel, and received the ticket on an email which you show when you board the ferry. But, if you want to book online before you travel you can, just print your tickets and make sure you book a ferry leaving enough time to get to the ferry port for any possible delays.
The sailing schedule has been released:

Which Ferry?
If you travel with Jadrolinija, each ferry has a different name and this is what you use to identify which ferry will leave to Hvar.
Visit the departure board located next to the ticket office at Split's ferry port to know which pier and ferry you need for your ferry.
The Journey will approximately take one hour on a large Catamaran to Hvar and two hours to Stari Grad on a large transporter ferry. Both have air conditioning and a cash only bar! When approaching Hvar keep an eye out on the left side to see our amazing wedding venue too!
Arriving in Hvar Town
When you arrive in Hvar you will be in the main town surrounded by a lot of bars and restaurants
.
The hotels we have recommended are all within walking distance from Hvar’s harbour. If you are staying at Hotel Amfora your luggage will be collected at the catamaran and taken to the hotel reception.
The wedding venue, Hvar Beach Club, is a ten minute walk following the pedestrian promenade to the left.
If you have booked an AirBnB ensure you have your host’s details and the address of the accommodation.
You should be able to use your 4G data in Croatia like you do in the UK.
Order Uber
if you haven't already you will need to download the uber app and create an account.
